Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has had quite a year: he was named an All-Star, recently signed a max contract extension with the team and just appeared on the cover of SLAM 245. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our cover story, <\/a><\/strong>Haliburton opens up about his journey thus far and how he “loves” proving all the doubters wrong. Still, the 23-year-old doesn\u2019t take himself too seriously. Basketball, he says, is a \u201cchild\u2019s game,\u201d and brings him back to memories of having a ball in his crib and playing video games. That\u2019s the joy behind Haliburton\u2019s ever-apparent smile when he\u2019s out there on the hardwood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I\u2019m playing basketball, it\u2019s just fun,\u201d he told SLAM<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s like I\u2019m a kid again, you know? And that\u2019s what I love about it. This isn\u2019t a job for me. This is a passion of mine and something I really love to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
